My Cat Puddinhead - 1993-1994 Mike Blake - Guitars/Vocals A borderline "Grunge" band, (they preferred the term "Heavy Groove") My Cat Puddinhead played various venues around the Seattle area. Most performances were insignificant club dates basically playing for the band that was previously on stage. But not all gigs were such as thus. Puddinhead also played a couple of shows opening up for Soulfood 76. In fact we were paid a high compliment at one show by Daniel Fairbanks of Soulfood 76. After the concert Daniel and I were passing. I stuck out my hand and said, "Man, you guys rock!" To which Daniel replied, "You guys rule." Thanks for the compliment and memory Daniel! My Cat Puddinhead recorded it's first self-titled demo early '94 at Creation Studios in Everett, WA. Shortly after the recording, Tony left the band and rather than find a replacement, they decided to continue on as a power trio. I announced my departure from the band in May of '94 but continued through June until the band could find a replacement. Mike Blake has gone on to work with Paul Roraback of Grammatrain and form Gideon's Press which changed their name to The Illustrated Band. |
